8 Things To Do This September School Holidays

With the September holidays coming up, we’ve put together some activities to keep the kids engaged and their creative juices flowing. Here’s a roundup of 8 activities to help you with your week’s plans!

1. Get excited about science!

Catch an exciting science spectacle featuring a host of live demonstrations that is sure to excite you and your kids at the Special Science Show by Royal Institution. From flaming butane bubbles to exploding tin cans on the live stage, children will learn more about chemical reactions that create energy and how it plays a part in our lives.

If magic and illusion is what interests your child, catch the “Impossible” Science Show where Famed American magician Jason Latimer lets everyone in on "Impossible" secrets to bending light and shaping water.

There are more activities and events lined-up as part of the Singapore Science Festival that is happening until 14 September. Find out more here!

2. Boost your child’s confidence in mandarin!

From storytelling, to singing and dancing sessions, Beijing Language School’s September holiday programs are all about fun, enrichment and engagement. Exclusive for children aged 3 to 11 years old, the professional trainers at the centre will inspire your child's enthusiasm to learn Mandarin. Their daily workshops are packed with fun learning activities that will entertain and educate your child during the school holidays!

Classes start from 9 to 13 September 2019 at the centre’s Waterway Point outlet. Find out more here

3. Calling all aspiring Astronauts and Sea Life Rescuers

Aspiring intergalactic space travellers or deep-sea explorers can find themselves lost in the wild and fascinating world of LEGO® City & Friends. The partnership between Waterway Point and LEGO® will run from 9 to 15 September.

Children will have to undergo a series of grueling test stations while navigating obstacles such as fast-moving asteroids or elaborate animal rescues to be exclusively certified as an Astronaut or Sea Life Rescuer.

4. Answering the need for speed

As the annual Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix makes its return, children too can get their share of racing action. Keep their adrenaline pumping at the Toy Car Races at Bedok Point from 9 to 15 September!

Their coordination and dexterity will be put to the test as the mall hosts different types of speed races catered to different categories.

8. Make new feathered friends at Jurong Bird Park

Now would be a good time to revisit the aviary, or take your child for his or her very first visit as they are offering FREE tickets to all Singaporeans, PRs and workers holding an Employment Pass from 6 to 15 Sep!

There’s so much to see and do at the bird park like feeding the colourful, friendly Lories at the Lory Loft and watching the talented birds perform during the exciting live shows! You can also experience what it would be like to step into a tropical rainforest at the Waterfall Aviary, while you cool down next to its 30-metre-tall man-made waterfall.
